If you have always wanted to increase your vocabulary, then this site is for you. Basically you choose the right meaning of a word out of four choices and every time you have a correct answer 10 grains of rice are allotted to feed the hungry. Now, 10 grains are not much, so you should play often and for long! And guess what happens while you are busy at saving the world? Your word stock increases!

I am not referring the translation option as a learning tool. Browser-based translation can be quirky. While it sheds some light on inaccessible knowledge (due to language barriers), the unwary newbie might not be able to tell the difference between right and wrong.
I AM suggesting the listen option. Just type anything (or copy-paste from somewhere) in the text field and click the “listen” option.
Please do NOT try to talk in that accent in real life! Use it only as a tool to listen to the sound of the word.
Lingro l Browser bookmarklet
The lingro browser tools (bookmarklets) allow you to open any site you’re viewing using lingro with one click. Once you have copied the bookmarklet to your browser, click it when you’re on a page you want to view with lingro. The Firefox extension is especially useful for translating words on sites like Facebook which can’t be viewed with the web-based version of lingro. And of course lingro will still keep track of all the words you translate so you can review your personal vocabulary history using our study tools and games.
